About Us

Cedar Lake Growers started when a few local gardeners discovered a common dream to reignite the love for gardening and agriculture in the greenhouse in Cedar Lake. It had been dormant for more than a year, and our team began laying plans to put green back into the greenhouse!

Cedar Lake Growers is a nonprofit garden under the umbrella of UFedMe, the same organization that oversees The Second Mile, a local thrift store serving the Edmore community, and Daniel’s Kitchen, a local pay-what-you-can plant based restaurant that also serves the Edmore community. Like our sister ministries, we are here to serve the people right outside our doors by teaching students and families to grow food, providing a venue for students to earn money toward their tuition, supplying Daniel’s Kitchen with fresh produce free of charge, and putting fresh, yummy veggies on tables in our community at affordable prices. The money from our local sales goes straight toward our mission of education.
